The national administrative headquarters of Delta Sigma Pi is the Central Office. It was established in Chicago, Illinois, in 1924 where it remained until the fall of 1956 when it was moved to 330 South Campus Avenue in Oxford, Ohio (near Cincinnati) and its own building. The Executive Director is in charge of the Central Office and has a full-time staff, including a Director of Administrative Services, Director of Chapter and Expansion Services, Executive Vice President of the Leadership Foundation, Director of Education and Communications, Director of Information Services, Director of Alumni Development, Educational and Leadership Consultants and administrative personnel.

An ever-increasing computer network is employed to expedite the routine of the Central Office and the handling of thousands of inquiries responded to annually. The Fraternity database contains information for every member initiated, as well as historical data and records. The library of the Central Office contains files on schools of business administration in the United States, copies of all issues of The DELTASIG and bound membership records for every member of Delta Sigma Pi from the very founding of the Fraternity in 1907.

More than a hundred different items of jewelry, chapter supplies, forms and manuals are stocked by the Central Office for the use of collegiate and alumni chapters and individual members. The DELTASIG, official bulletins, all manuals and other Fraternity publications are edited and distributed by the Central Office.

The Central Office is geographically located in the heart of the Fraternity's activities. The headquarters building is adjacent to the Miami University campus which affords a true college atmosphere and a perfect environment for the national operation.

Some of the services of the Central Office are as follows:

  1. Keeps all Fraternity membership records

  2. Maintains mailing lists

  3. Issues certificates and cards of membership

  4. Purchases and distributes chapter supplies and jewelry

  5. Edits and publishes The DELTASIG Magazine, Fraternity Web site and all manuals and forms

  6. Serves as custodian of all Fraternity funds and archives

  7. Coordinates and oversees the Chapter Efficiency Index

  8. Arranges for the Grand Chapter Congress and other meetings

  14. Maintains and distributes ritualistic regalia equipment

  15. Administers and invests Fraternity funds

There are several national programs in Delta Sigma Pi that are of special importance. Inasmuch as all chapters participate in them, each member of the Fraternity should become familiar with them. Only those national programs that have become more or less standard ones in Delta Sigma Pi are described in this listing.

The Chapter Efficiency Index:
The CEI was established in the 1931-1932 academic year as a method for evaluating the efficiency of collegiate chapters. The index has been periodically revised to assist the Fraternity in improving the quality and scope of chapter operations. Today, the Chapter Efficiency Index serves chapters as a planning guide and as a guide for reporting activities to the national headquarters.

Chapters which receive 100,000 points during an academic year are recognized for their performance by being placed on the Fraternity's Honor Roll of chapters. This recognition indicates that the chapter has a well rounded and above average program. It does not mean that a chapter has achieved the ultimate in chapter operations as continuous improvement in chapter operations must be an ongoing effort.

To achieve Honor Roll recognition, the chapter must meet point goals in each of six major divisions of the Chapter Efficiency Index. The point goals needed in each division and their names are:

Strategic Plans and Officer Transitions: 21,500 points
Strategic Planning Operations: 28,500 points
Financial Management: 17,000 points
Chapter Records: 7,500 points
Initiation Planning and Reporting: 15,000 points
Chapter Recognition and General Activities: 10,500 points

Each chapter earning less than 100,000 points but more than 85,000 points receives Honorable Mention recognition.

Grand Chapter Congress:
The national convention of Delta Sigma Pi, which is held every odd-numbered year, in the month of August, is called the Grand Chapter Congress. Each collegiate and alumni chapter of the Fraternity, in good standing, is entitled to be represented by an official delegate and as many other members of their organization as care to attend. The laws of the Fraternity are enacted at this meeting of the Grand Chapter, and the Grand President and other members of the Board of Directors are elected at this time.

Several hundred Deltasigs attend the Grand Chapter Congress. During these 4-5 days, very extensive educational, legislative and social programs are conducted, which not only enlighten the members on the operation of the Fraternity as a whole, but also help to bind them into one unit Fraternally. The next Grand Chapter Congress will be held in the Hyatt Regency Buffalo, Buffalo/Niagara Falls, New York on August 15-19, 2001.

Scholarship Key:
High scholastic attainments are recognized by Delta Sigma Pi by the awarding of a Scholarship Key. These keys are awarded to the graduating senior in commerce and business administration who ranks highest in each class. The promotion of high scholarship began with the giving of the first key in 1912, and since then it is awarded in all colleges having chapters of Delta Sigma Pi.

Conferences, Schools and Academies:
Delta Sigma Pi sponsors conferences, schools and academies designed to benefit collegiate and alumni Brothers. These meetings focus on providing direction, motivating leadership, providing educational material and encouraging involvement consistent with the purpose of this fraternity. Each meeting strives to enhance the personal growth and development of the individual student or alumnus while providing networking opportunities to improve and grow our individual collegiate and alumni chapters.

The Fraternity meets these educational goals through Leadership and Excellence Academies for Deltasigs (the LEAD program) which encompasses Provincial Conferences, Schools, the Ultimate Leadership and Excellence Academy for Deltasigs, and regional and area conferences. These educational meetings differ in length of the program and in whether their primary focus is personal development or chapter development. Some educational meetings are devoted solely to the personal development of the individual while other programs are designed to aid chapters in conducting their programs and activities.

LEAD Provincial Conferences are conducted annually between November 1 and March 30 in each Province. LEAD Schools are scheduled during the school terms opposite the LEAD Provincial Conference. The Ultimate Leadership Academy for Deltasigs is conducted in the summer of even-numbered years. Regional and area conferences are scheduled throughout the year whenever the Provincial or Regional Vice President determines that an educational conference would be beneficial to the chapters in that area.

Consultation Program:
One of the services offered to collegiate chapters is the consultation program of the Central Office. The Director of Chapter and Expansion Services and the Educational and Leadership Consultants are trained in all areas of chapter operations and periodically visit each chapter to answer any questions and to assist with any problems a chapter might have. The Chapter Consultants, especially, spend a majority of their time during the academic year consulting with numerous chapters across the country.
